Globurile de Aur au revenit anul acesta pe TV odată cu ediția 80, după ce în urmă cu un an premiile nu doar că nu au fost transmise live, dar nu au beneficiat nici de public sau ceremonie pe covor roșu. Comediantul de culoare Jerrod Carmichael a găzduit evenimentul de anul acesta la The Beverly Hilton din Beverly Hills, California.
„The Fabelmans” a fost desemnat cel mai bun film de dramă iar „The Banshees of Inisherin” a câștigat premiul pentru cel mai bun film muzical sau comedie.
În categoria de seriale de televiziune, „House of the Dragon” a câștigat premiul pentru cel mai bun serial de dramă de televiziune, în timp ce „Abbott Elementary” l-a câștigat pe cel pentru cel mai bun serial de televiziune musical sau comedie.
