Duminică 19 februarie au fost desemnați laureații celei de-a 76-a ediții a premiilor BAFTA. În cadrul ceremoniei de premiere de la Londra, filmul german „All Quiet on the Western Front” a fost marea vedeta a serii, obținând un număr impresionant de distincții.
Remake al unei pelicule din Germania despre ororile războiului, filmului i-au fost decernate la BAFTA 2023 nu mai puțin de șapte trofee, printre care cele pentru cel mai bun regizor, cel mai bun film și cel mai bun film într-o limbă străină.
Pe lista de câștigători s-au numărat și peliculele „The Banshees of Inisherin” și „Everything Everywhere All at Once”.
Gala a avut loc la Royal Festival Hall din Londra, fiind gazduită de actorul Richard E. Grant, cunoscut pentru rolul său din serialul Loki. Îmbrăcat într-o pelerină albă și conducând un Batmobil, prezentatorul a făcut o intrare de senzație. Ajuns pe scenă, el s-a întrebat retoric: „Ce poate fi mai tipic britanic decât un tren care întârzie?”.
