Welcome to the second edition of the International New Music Festival TIMSONIA. We are all about creating opportunities for professionals, students and audience to engage in creative expression and research, continuing the healthy tradition spearheaded by the 20th-Century Avant-Garde, however tailored to the current trends and interests in all music & sound-related domains of inquiry. We offer this year again a memorable list of performances showcasing local, national and international guest artists as well as cutting-edge presentations.

As the chosen theme of the 2018 TIMSONIA Festival, INTERFERENCE it is the governing idea overseeing the program of each concert in the form of different types of interference such as stylistic, cultural and inter-generational.  The stylistic interference is between musical periods (BAROQUE-CONTEMPORARY, ROMANTIC – CONTEMPORARY etc.), the cultural interference is in the mixture of Romanian & foreign ensembles (ATEM & WISTINGHAUSEN or Duo Moș – Măniceanu & Duo Mirković – Blagojević etc.) and the inter-generational interference is represented by bringing together both university teaching staff active in the domain of contemporary music & students interested in exploring this domain. The students are also given the opportunity to be involved both in giving concerts as well as the organizing aspects of the festival or critique writing.
